It’s not just a war on women!


It appears that the conservative branches of the federal and state legislatures believe that sanctity of life begins sometime before conception and ends once a child is born.

If Thomas Jefferson was correct and we do “hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness,” that does not begin with the health of our citizens?

I am confused. I know you, your colleagues and supporters support “sanctity of life issues” and tell us you care about the state of American healthcare and higher education. However, why are you pitting one against the other?

HB 4628 intends to keep Stafford loan rates at 3.4 percent, but only if the healthcare of women and children are cut from the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. It that because it was passed by the liberal arm of the chambers?
