God’s Spokesperson, Pat Robertson

Pat Robertson said that after praying, God told him who the next president will be (but because of IRS 501(c)(3) rule he cannot tell anyone), and told him why President Obama is not this person:

I will read just what I wrote down as if I am hearing from the lord these word:

Your country will be torn apart by internal stress. A house divided cannot stand. Your president holds a radical view of the direction of your country which is at odds with the majority. Expect chaos and paralysis. Your president holds a view which is at the odds with the majority — it’s a radical view of the future of this country, and so that’s why we’re having this division. This is a spiritual battle which can only be won by overwhelming prayer. The future of the world is at stake because if America falls, there’s no longer a strong champion of freedom and a champion of the oppressed of the world. There must be an urgent call to prayer.

OK, what is wrong with this picture? Is God going to select the next president of the United States and leave the people out of the process?

Is God a citizen of the United States when he told Robertson that “…so that’s why we’re having this division.”?

If you believe that the United State’s 112th Congress earned the name “Do Nothing” in 2011, imagine what will happen in 2012 when the GOP conservative Christians rely on prayer instead of intelligence, insight, and critical thinking to lead this nation.

Did you happen to note that Robertson, or God depending on your attitude, quoted Abraham Lincoln without proper citations? Lincoln’s quote was based on Matthew 12:25; “Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, ‘Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.’ ”

Pat, if you are going to quote scripture through Mr. Lincoln to advance your political agenda, please say so. Do not hide it in some “heavenly message” that was sent to you and you alone.

And who exactly made you a spokes person for God? What’s makes you so special that God only talks to you and then only through prayer? If God were really wanted the world to know, wouldn’t He (or She or It) use Twitter (#God) to announce who the next president would be, avoiding the hundreds-of-millions of dollars of wasted spending in this election cycle?

One Response to God’s Spokesperson, Pat Robertson

  1. Doodie says:

Pat is part of a long list of people smacking their lips on God’s behalf, claiming the know the future, and repeatedly contradicting themselves. He claims to quote God directly and relays God’s message that the country will go through a large economic collapse. Is God Captain obvious now or what?

Also, what happened to the 2007 nuclear genocide God told him about below?
