So you want more attention?
Columbia, MO – Communication classes under my tutelage are riddled with discussions of politics, business, science and religion, overtly and covertly. In “Speech Communication,” students are required to complete two persuasive speechs; one must be political in nature. I want my students to understand how important a single voice can be in changing the world about them.
Inevitably, this leads to questions concerning “Letters to the Editor” and how to increase one’s chance of being selected for publication and, by extension, how does one becomes a columnist. My answer is the same as I received from His Holiness the Dalai Lama when I asked him, “What is the meaning of life?” I really did.
He sat quietly on the stage at Regis University (Colorado) facing an audience of 2,500 and after a moment of contemplation he said, “I do not know.”
This is what I told my LinkedIn contact, Greg Giesen when he asked. He is a management consultant and radio talk show host for Castle Rock Radio Colorado. I would like to share some of that discussion. What it is worth is your decision.
I was writing letters to the editor at both dailies in Columbia Missouri for almost two years and noticed that they all were being published. I called the editors of both and asked if I could do a regular column. The Columbia Missourian answered my request. The editor said yes with one caveat – I work free. That is the rub. I accepted and write weekly.
Most papers have a local, in addition to national, columnists covering most topics and issues. Local papers also want writers speaking to local issues. But not to be discouraged.
A number of newspapers and magazines accept guest columnists on a regular basis. Your local business magazine(s), trade magazine, the monthly publication for the Chamber of Commerce or local organization newsletter are great places to start. Ask for the editorial guidelines, or check online. Providing timely and useful information is the key, even if you are self promoting a bit.
Follow the K.I.S.S. rule for letters to the editor; Keep it Short and Simple. No more than one idea in 100 words and you have the ideal letter for consideration. Keep it timely. Do not write about something that happened last month or last year.
Most editorials are limited from 400 to 1,000 words, though I fine 700 is a great target. If you are writing commentary or an advice column, you may write in the first person. Some publications want third person only. Check the editorial guidelines.
Four absolutes: Spell check. Edit heavily. Read the column aloud. Spell check again.
Meet writers and columnists through LinkedIn, other networking sites and professional organizations. Tell others of your column and blog (if you have one), and send emails to your contacts and the groups to which you belong. Include a link to your company, your blog and column on your homepages.
Whether you write a business, gardening, hobby, real estate, political or any other column, join the organizations to make as many professional and like-minded contacts as possible. These are the initial people you will need to both attract and use as references.
Next, you need to be THE Subject Matter Expert. Most of you already know that phrase and some can claim the title of SME. Keep learning and staying abreast of developments, take classes, read the journals, talk to compatriots; do what it takes so people will call you for information.
Joe Saba, a good friend for multiple decades, once told me that there is no such thing as a miracle. If you ask enough people for the thing you need (not want), someone will open the right door for the opportunity. He also told me, “Don’t worry if you get rejected. Remember: Some will; Some won’t; So what; Next!” Rejection happens. Do not take it personally.
The mode delivery may be different, pixels instead of ink, Internet instead of a stage, but the power of a single voice has changed the world, especially when speaking of politics. Euripides was right when he said, “The tongue is mightier than the blade.”
Look there, 700 words.
“We the People” or “We the Individual”
Columbia, MO – Politically, it is the best of times and the worst of times. It is the present and, with all due respect to Charles Dickens, its noisiest critics of the regime insist on being heard, for good and for evil.
In 1984, Ronald Reagan said, “We proclaimed a dream of an America that would be ‘a shining city on a hill.’”
A few weeks later, Mario Cuomo referred to Dickens when he rebutted the president’s analogy. “In fact,” he said, “it is a tale of two cities.”
Cuomo saw “another part to the shining the city.” Those who are of the middle and lower economic classes. Who cannot afford housing or an education. Who are homeless and hungry. Who have seen their dreams “evaporate.”
Today, these two cities still exist, separated by a widening gulf between corporate America and an America “of the people, by the people and for the people.” The American dream is parishing this earth. The United States Supreme Court has ruled in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission.
Citizens United made a documentary titled “Hillary: The Movie.” Yes, Clinton’s campaign was upset by 90-minutes of bashing and beating. More so, the United States Election Commission was upset because a for-profit corporation, to get “around” McCain-Feingold / 2002 Bipartisan Campaign Finance Act, sponsored the movie.
Citizens United claimed that the law was a violation of the First Amendment, that “Congress shall make no law… abridging the freedom of speech…” However, that Amendment was made in terms of the people. Until 1886.
In Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad, the Court’s findings stated that “the defendant Corporations are persons within the intent of the clause in section 1 of the Fourteen Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which forbids a State to deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” I will allow you to make your own conclusion of the language and ruling. I have.
Today, the costs of elections are astronomical. Mr. Obama spent just short of $750 million on his presidential bid. John McCain, about $360 million. That is more money than the gross national product of 47 countries.
Even in rural America, the cost to run a state representative race in 2008 exceeded $625,000.
Justice Anthony Robert’s majority opinion has opened the floodgates to even more spending, with more unlimited moneys coming from unlimited funds. With this ruling, a corporation can spend $10 million on campaign commercials and contributions as an “individual.” America’s middle-class American has problems donating $1,000. Or $100.
Newt Gingrich told National Public Radio that the ruling will allow “a middle-class candidate go out and find allies and supporters who are able to help them match the rich.” That, “you as a citizen ought to the right to complain about your incumbent congressman, or your incumbent senator, or your incumbent president – and you should not be constrained by the government, you should not risk criminal proceedings.”
The fallacy in these comments? The Constitution begins with “We the people,” not “We the individual” or “We the corporation.” It talks about the “general welfare” of the people, not of the corporate. The Fourteenth Amendment speaks to “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.” Not “all individuals.”
I cannot, no matter how hard I try, make General Electric, Pfizer, General Motors, Microsoft, Berkshire Hathaway or any other corporation a person. Treat them as an “individual” in terms of protection of the shareholders. Do not to give disadvantage or prevent and individual who is not “corporate sweetheart” from running for government due the outrageous expense.
We, as citizens, do have the right to openly and forcefully complain about incumbent elected official, school administrators, appointed city managers and anyone else as long as it is not libelous. We have the right “to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” The First Amendment says so.
Justices Roberts, Scalia, Kennedy, Alito and Thomas have taken the rights of “We the People,” and have made them “We the Corporations.” They are wrong.
Hello God? This is your friend Pat. Pat Robinson.
Columbia, MO – The Neo-Christian Right and Neo-Conservative/Libertarians should be embarrassed. It seems two of their leaders have a major case of Foot-in-Mouth Disease.
Less than 24 hours after the devastating 7.0 earthquake in Port-Au-Prince Haiti, Pat Robinson said something that should make every person on this planet quake in their shoes – Haiti experienced the earthquake because the Haitian people, all of them, made a deal with the Devil. And from Robinson’s mouth to the pixels on your screen, “True story.”
How does the good Reverend know this? Was he on the island of Hispaniola in the early 1800s? Did he get an email from God or Lucifer giving him, and him alone, details? Does Robinson have a 800 number directly to the Christian Heaven Information and Historical Center, calling it daily? Can it be a direct line to God?
Robinson had also claimed that New Orleans was a city of sin and that God brought Hurricane Katrina to its doors as punishment. His God, evidently, is a loving, forgiving and peaceful god, that is until you cross Him… or Her.
Additionally, Robinson has no idea of the history of this small nation. The island of Hispaniola, on which Haiti occupies the western third, was the “New World” landmass discovered by Christopher Columbus, the Italian kid (whose mother may have been Jewish) working for Spain. Spain gave the island to the French in 1697 as part of a treaty.
The slaves on the island revolted in 1791. Becoming a republic in 1804 happened under Napoleon I’s reign. The Republic of Haiti bought its “independence” in 1825 from France for a mere 150 million francs. The revolt had nothing to do with Napoleon II, III or IV as Robinson claimed. II was a baby and never in power in France. III received the 150 million francs. IV was not yet born.
In 1970, I was in Haiti during the elections for president (read “Language Limits the Means to Equality” for details). I saw a very religious people who believe in Christ and the Catholic Church. Though some saw the practice of Voodoo as an extension of their Catholicism, they were and are good people who have suffered hardships unknown in the United States for at least 150 years.
Haitian suffering came under the hands of Dr. François “Papa Doc” Duvalier and eventually his son, Jean-Claude “Baby Doc” Duvalier. Suffering came from nature. God had nothing to do with this earthquake.
I have read other comments concerning the Reverend Robinson. Many are angry, hailing from the left and right political wings, from the orthodox believers and from atheists. Those who agree with the Reverend, mostly neo-conservative Christians, believe that their leaders can do no wrong.
Should the 700 Club stop all association with the Reverend Pat Robinson? Using the words of former governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, “You betcha.”
Do we need to question the motivation of Robinson’s asking for fund for Haitian relief efforts? “You betcha.”
Should God sever his communication with Robinson? “You betcha.”
Do Robinson’s comments have you thinking about becoming a Theist or Atheist? That is up to you, but do I hear a resounding “You Betcha!”

Rid Ourselves of the Race Card
Columbia, MO – I have said this before and I will say it again. I am not “White.” My skin color is beige. My race is Caucasian, my family origins are northern European and I am an American by birth. Do not call me White. Oh yes, I am a Native American – I was born in this country.
My friends who can trace their origins to Africa are not “Black.” Their pigmentation is various degrees of brown. Their race is Negroid, their heritage is African and most are Americans by birth or naturalization.
Why be angry about simple semantics? Because it is neither simple nor semantic, it is a matter of identity. Yah, I am one of those left-wing pinko liberals, but using weasel words to cover our fear of race when speaking of our neighbors is just plain wrong.
Why has the subject reared its ugly head? It started with an article concerning a local school district allowing students to declared “multi-racial” on demographic surveys.
One of the choices is not at all clear: Why are individuals whose families trace their heritage to the Middle East to be considered “White?” Palestinians would disagree with this assessment.
In fact, the designation of “White” includes individuals whose heritage is from Europe, North Africa or the Middle East. The National Center for Education Statistics pamphlet “Managing an Identity Crisis” does not give any reason. For this, I went elsewhere.
Dr. D. R. Johnson of Leeds University in England indicates that there are indeed three “races” formally recognized in physical anthropology, Caucasoid, Mongoliod and Negroid, each with multiple subgroups. Each group is designated by physical attributes as facial size and shape, hair texture and color, etc. The Caucasoid subgroup of Mediterranean includes southern Europe, North Africa, Middle East and Asia Minor populous.
Most Persians would cringe at the thought that they were somehow related to the people of Spain, Italy or of Mesopotamia. Persia and Mesopotamia are Iran and Iraq today.
Ethnicity is the combination of race as well as the culture of the people within a specific region. Oxford English Dictionary defines ethnicity as, “having common racial, cultural, religious or linguistic characteristics.” (Oxford English Dictionary Second edition, online version as of 2008-01-12, “ethnic, a. and n.”)
Defining ethnicity as whether or not you are “Hispanic” is way too limiting. To define ethnicity as White, Black, Native American, Native Alaskan or Native Hawaiian (or Pacific Islander) is insulting.
This leads me to define myself as “none of the above.” My race is not “White,” but Nordic Caucasoid. My ethnicity… well, that can become quite confusing. Maybe my college nom de plume as the “New York Polish Jewish agnostic Unitarian Buddhist with a Catholic education” is as close as anyone could get.
I am an American Caucasian. My friend Jamie, whose family came to the United States about 1820 as slaves, is an American Negroid. Yoshi, whose grandparents hail from Osaka, is an American Mongoloid. Yet these designations are too limiting even with seven subcategories.
Many races have interbred. Jamie and Yoshi have a wonderful son named Allen. President Barack Obama is an American Indonesian-Mongoloid/Nordic-Caucasoid. Way too complicated. He is a mutt, like most of the rest of us.
The world is more than “Hispanic” and “not Hispanic,” and not “Black,” “White,” Yellow” or “Red.” Let’s get off the “I am better because I am of this race” high-horse merry-go-round and define the terms correctly. Especially when used in an education environment.
Let’s just remove the race and ethnicity cards altogether and only ask “Are you a citizen of the United States? If not, what is your country of origin?”
If our government can remove the stigma of race by skin color in demographics, maybe it would lead to the displacement of racism. And wouldn’t that be a much better world in which to live.
True Story of Santi Claus
THE TRUE STORY OF SANTI CLAUS
(Originally read for the Cowboy Poet’s Contest, National Western Stock Show, 1996)
I was listenin’ to Baxter Black,
On NPR the other day.
I love his poems and stories,
And what he had to say.
Now he tends to talk about,
People, animals and the west.
But there was one thing that really bugs me,
The one that I put to the test.
You see, I was listenin’ to the radio
Tryin’ to understand the cowboy poet’s drawl
To learn the diphthongs and perimeters
‘Specially how to say ‘Y’ll.’
Then Baxter told a story,
How the angel got on top of the tree.
But, Baxter, you never told us,
How Santi Claus came to be.
So I done some research,
And low and behold,
The true story of Santi Claus,
Now can be told.
It all started in the winter,
Of Eighteen hundred ought three,
At a little toy store in Brooklyn,
Down on 33rd and Sullivan Street.
It was a wonderful store,
With confections, games and toys,
Where the white haired owner would ask,
“Have you been good little girls and boys?”
Then it happened,
On that snowy December night
When the owner, Sammy
Was awaken with a fright.
Sleeping in comfort,
Red night cap and PJ’s,
When neighbors were heard screaming,
“Sammy, your place is ablaze!”
Now Sammy had no horses,
And it was years before the SkiDoo.
But he had eight reindeer he was watching,
Special for the Central Park Zoo.
He pulled on his black boots,
Then hitched the team to his sleigh,
And with a cry of “Sugar Plum Fairies,”
Ol’ Sammy was on his way.
“Hoo Ha Hoo Ha”
Was the call through the night,
As his store in flames,
Soon came in sight.
By now the crowd had gathered,
All a round the place.
Sammy’s rosy cheeks sparkled,
As the fire’s light hit his face.
As he arrived at the store,
The front was completely aflame,
But the back barn was still safe.
And filled with toys and games.
He grabbed a ladder,
Climbed to the second floor,
And started throwing game and toys,
Out the double hay door.
They were snatch up by children,
Under Sammy’s watchful eye.
He was saving his products,
But was kissing profit good-bye.
He put the candy in stockings,
And then in to a burlap sack,
As he turned to leave,
He threw the bag on his back.
He looked around the shop,
As the clock struck twelve,
Just to make sure nothing else,
Was still sittin’ on the shelves.
He climbed from his perch,
And back to the ground,
Only to be amazed at,
The support he had found.
The children brought him cookies,
Hot chocolate and cider.
Someone brought him a towel,
To remove the soot from the fire.
As he sat in the snow,
A tear came to his eyes,
As the fire was extinguished,
Its light dimmed in the sky.
His friends gathered around,
To ease the trauma from the sight.
The sheriff was heard to say,
“Next year will be better, Sammy Klaus…
And to all, a Good Night.”
Tiger plus PGA Equals Money
Tiger’s personal really was none of our business, that is until he decided to take and “indefinite” leave from golf. One day or one year does not make a difference. And only a few really want to know if he preferred to be on top or bottom. But, it is the fallout that changes the importance of this story.
Here is where the story becomes general interest, or at least interest to the sporting and business worlds.
As a former PGA Captain of Marshals for the now defunct International at Castle Pines (CO), I saw firsthand what happens when Tiger played a tournament or not. For the two events that Woods showed, the ticket sales went through the roof. I had an additional 10 marshals to work hole #10 (492 yd, Par 4) to handle the crowds. It reminded me of wildebeests migrating; first you see one, then the entire herd of millions, then the stragglers. Occasionally one gets eaten by an alligator.
Without Tiger, the course was never empty, but the revenues were down. People would start asking six months before if Tiger was going to show, with the standard answer, “I don’t know. He hasn’t called me this week to discuss his plans.”
In fact, because of the timing, the answer would be “no.” These are the fans that would then attend Saturday or Sunday, who would have bought tickets for the entire week knowing they would be in the sphere of greatness.
It is the financial hit that the PGA, CBS and NBC will have without Tiger playing. Sure Phil and Ernie and VJ can hold their own (and work the fans much better), but it is something about the mystique of this one person that draws the bucks. Tiger is the key to the PGA pocketbook.
As an aside, the LPGA has never had a player who garnered that type of following, though many real champions came from their ranks. Look at the finances of the LPGA, the lack of television coverage, the lack of endorsements and personal appearances. The LPGA is ill and not getting better. Why? They fall in the shadow of Tiger.
This is now a story about economics, psychology and public recognition. Tiger’s indiscretions are now of major public interest.
The Murder of Four Cops – Crime and Punishment
Columbia MO – Having breakfast before work with colleagues is a way to connect in our otherwise hectic world. Small corner cafes are usually the best; good coffee, good food and a wait staff that knows everyone. I use to own such a restaurant in Denver.
While having their breakfast this morning, four Lakewood Washington police officers were shot and killed. Sheriff spokesman Ed Troyer said that the attack was targeted on these officers, not on the other patrons in the café. The names of the officers have not yet been released.
The death of a police officer, or any other public safety professional, is saddening. The calculated murder of four police officers is monstrous. It is terrorism.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and to the City of Lakewood.
There is a theory about reward and punishment. The punishment should be so great that the action, in this case the murders, would not happen. The reward should be so great that there would be no hesitation for doing the right thing.
There is little evidence that the threat of the death penalty is a deterrent in the commission of premeditated murder or domestic terrorism. For terrorists, the punishment is just not big enough to deter the action. For terrorists, the reward of becoming a martyr is far greater.
This, as the fire bombings in Seattle last October, was an act of domestic terrorism. The shooters, reportedly two at the time of this writing, are no different from al Qaeda or Taliban suicide bombers. Their deaths will only make them martyrs in the eyes of others, whether members of their gang or of an anarchist group.
And if the reward for the murder of the Lakewood police officers was so great that the shooters planned and carried out the attack, the reward for finding them should be equal or greater.
It is more important to apprehend and convict in a court of law then to reward them with death. As of 1:00 pm CST, the reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the two shooters is $10,000. Considering the level of this attack, considering the level of the planning and coordination, $10,000 is not enough. The reward needs to be $100,000.
It is too soon for the city to have set up a memorial fund or a method of raising that reward to a level far more substantial. I know the citizens of this Tacoma suburb will contribute heavily to both funds. As ask that you find it in your heart to do the same.
24/7/365 Your name could be on the news.
Columbia, MO - “What is going on in your state?” The email was from a LinkedIn contact and reader from South Africa. “Murder, incest, nude photos, discrimination. Is it true about inbreeding?”
No, but…
It is amazing that Missouri has hit the international news through the Internet and cable television five times in one week from the Associated Press, AOL News, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and other various sources. All online. Missouri is now infamous.
My dad called from Florida asking about Alyssa Bustamante by name. This murder occurred in Cole County Missouri, just outside of the capital, the City of Jefferson. Was she really only 15-years old? Did she really plan to kill the 9-year old girl and neighbor? Is she (Alyssa) really deranged? Is her father really in jail? He saw the story on CNN.
The nudity story is about a South Carolina woman, referred to as “Jane Doe” in court papers. The original St. Louis Post-Dispatch report indicated that the Creve Coeur, Mo. Riverfront Times ran a story in 2006 concerning cosmetic surgery, which discussed, in part, plastic surgery of the female genitalia. With pictures. Jane Doe’s picture. Without her permission. She did not sue the paper, but her doctors for releasing the picture. The photos are no longer available online.
The incest case involves six members of the Mohler family, including the 77-year old father, “charged with several felonies, including forcible sodomy, rape with a child younger than 12 and use of a child in a sexual performance. The allegations, which include bestiality, forcing children into fake marriages with relatives and making an 11-year-old have an abortion, date from 1988 to 1995.” All in Lafayette, Missouri.
Finally, the United States Supreme Court refused to hear a discrimination case concerning the Dillard’s department store in Columbia, Missouri. The thirteen believed that they were followed by security, denied services or otherwise ignored during their shopping experience.
A second story on racism, reported by CNN and the Missourian, concerns Heather Ellis’ actions at a Kennett Missouri Walmart. Video shows her disturbing the peace and fighting with police officers. She pleaded guilty, but others saw the incident as racially motivated, which Ellis denies.
It is not that Missouri, or any other state, or rural area is somehow immune from murder, incest, greed and maltreatment of minorities than other state, like New York, California and Florida. St. Louis and Kansas City have some of the highest murder rates in the country. They had become national and international stories because the media needs something to fill the growing 24/7/365 market they created through cable television and now, the Internet.
We have a growing fascination about heinous crimes of murder, incest and discrimination. The “CSI” and “Law and Order” series would never have been so popular along with their reality counter parts “Cops,” “Cheaters” and “America’s Most Wanted.” If there is not enough crime already, we can watch a minor hold-up in Abilene Kansas live on CNN, MSNBC, or any of the other 24/7/365 news stations on cable or online.
Years ago, an ethics professor warned me, “Never do anything that would get your name printed on the front page of the New York Times – above the fold.” Today, we live in a world where you do not want your name showing up on the home page of AOL, Yahoo, Google or any other ISP site. We live in glass houses and everyone else are throwing stones in our direction.
Question: can anyone actually live this angelic, perfect life? For one, I hope not. Like would be very dull. I just hope my own escapades do not appear on YouTube in the near future. Like sword fighting with straws at Denny’s.
Rush and Sarah – Enter the Trap

Columbia, MO – My dear conservative friends,
I have warned you of your folly, of following too close behind a pig truck. I warned you of the stink and of pig shit upon window. Now my warning is more specific – Don’t follow Rush or Sarah too closely. (My apologies to farmers and pigs everywhere.)
MediaMatters.com’s blogger Greg Lewis is an ardent reporter of Rush and the “Rush Limbaugh Show.” He fills in the blanks when 1) I do not have a radio or computer near to listen or 2) I am laughing so hard or am so angry at Rush’s dribble that tears are coming to my eyes and I can no longer see the road to drive.
On February 5 Lewis reported Rush’s order of the day and gave me additional insight to the failing of Rush’s cognitive abilities. This one went to all Republicans. It was based on Rush’s belief that the proposed health summit is “a trap.” It was simple, eloquent and politically stupid.
Rush ranted, “Republicans, I’m saying it right now, do not be afraid of being called the Party of No… Be proud of being called the Party of No.”
Rush, baby, the proposed health care summit is not the trap. The trap was accepting the moniker of “The Party of No!” and including the ultra-conservative Libertarians and Tea Bagge… Partiers in your call. You walked in to the Leftist-Commie-Socialist trap, Rush, like a pig walking blindly in to the slaughterhouse.
Should the GOP be proud that they have said “No” to proposed health care reform, though they had a hand in drafting the legislation? That they have said “No” to proposed fiscal aid to small business and middle and lower income families. That they have said “No” in taking at least partial responsibility for our current economic crisis? (Yes, the Dems also helped and I will not deny that.) That they have repeatedly said “No” to public education?
I certainly hope not, if, of course, they are true Americans. If not for the survival of the GOP, for the survival of the United States.
Sarah trapped herself with her own words in her effort to become the 45th President. Or should I say her own hands. During her speech at the first national Tea Party convention, like a kid cheating in high school, she wrote crib notes on her hand.
The same woman who told the world that her foreign affairs experience comes from being able to see Russia from her front porch in Wasilla. (Science: At sea level, the horizon is eight miles away. Russia is well over 1,000 miles from Wasilla Alaska. But, then again, Sarah rejects science.)
The woman who cannot remember what periodicals she reads.
The woman who, while running for Vice President of the United States, did not know what the Bush Doctrine was.
A hint, Ms. Palin. You are a professional speaker and politician, though many are now questioning the latter. It is permissible to research and practice. It is permissible have notes written on paper in front of you when you give a speech. Really. I teach Speech 101, I know.
You are invited to sit in on class next term. No charge. I can arrange it.
On the same day as Rush’s rant, CBS reported that Sarah called for the GOP to “absorb” the Tea Party movement. The Tea Party, by their own admission, has no formal national leader. So when did Sarah take over? Is this her attempt of a dictatorial-fascist maneuver? Is she attempting to replace whatever sanity remains in the GOP with nonsense, verbal abuse and the tantrums tactics of a four-year old? You betcha.
Democrats, liberals and progressives, now is the time for all good and true patriots to take pens in hand and words to mouth, and point out the stupidity of the self-anointed leaders of the extremist-conservative, read anarchist, movements.
The Democratic, liberal and progressive parties must jump on Limbaugh’s “Call To Action” and Sarah’s lack of political savvy or lose the 2010 election cycle.
It is time to stop being the afraid. Repeat after me:
“We are an all inclusive and caring party that believes in the principles of our Constitution. That public education for every American is our number one priority. That the health of every American is to be honored. That security of America against outside and internal threats will remain vigilant. That the number one weapon in the world war on terrorism is not bombs and bullets, though necessary, but diplomacy, schools, self-security and support.”
It is time to take a stand and say “YES” to America.
